Steve serves as CEO for LongView Farms. He grew up actively participating in the family farm operation. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Farm Operation from Iowa State University, he worked as an ag lender in Nebraska for Farm Credit Services and then for Metropolitan. Since returning to farm in 1988, Steve has taken advantage of numerous educational opportunities including the Ferguson Agri-Management Institute, Texas A & M’s Executive Program for Ag Producers and Purdue’s Top Crop Farmer Program. Steve has served on the Iowa Soybean Association Board of Directors, Heart of Iowa Co-op Board and is currently the President on the Farm Credit Services of America Board. Locally, he is involved in Rotary and Cornerstone Church.
Laurie Henry
Laurie provides the accounting, marketing and record management for the farm. She graduated in Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University. Her previous position as Assistant Director at the Ames Chamber of Commerce provided experience in personnel management, leadership training, budgeting and business development strategies. She has served on the board of directors for the Agricultural Environmental Management Systems Network (Ag EMS Net), Center for Agriculture Development (CAD) at Iowa State University and the Iowa Women in Ag Board. In addition to her farm responsibilities, she currently serves on the Nevada State Bank and Trust Board and volunteers for a variety of community and church activities.
Scott Henry
Scott is a partner of LongView Farms. He is responsible for business growth, process management and the implementation of precision technology on LongView’s seed and commercial acres. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, International Agriculture and Finance, and received an MBA from the Kelley School of Business and an MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue. Prior to joining the LongView Farms team, Scott worked for a large agricultural group in North Central Iowa where he helped manage new construction and development projects within their livestock investment fund.
Calvin McFadden
Calvin serves as the Operations Manager for LongView Farms. He began working for Steve’s father, Richard Henry in 1984 and has remained a part of the operation ever since. He is responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment and coordinating the day-to-day farming operations. He brings many years of farming experience and skills in mechanics and carpentry to the operation.
